 Helping people plan and understand their options to lower the tax burden they will face in retirement is the reason Derrick became a financial advisor. He genuinely enjoys helping families plan for the future.

Derrick is a veteran of the US Army where he participated in Operation Desert Storm. During his service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal which recognizes members of the Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or meritorious service. Following Desert Storm, he gained experience in materials management and logistics in Germany and Kentucky as he completed his tour of duty.

Following his military career, Derrick spent many years in the shipping/transportation industry where he managed everything from safety to operations and logistics. He decided to move into the financial industry to pursue his mission of serving individuals and families as they plan for and protect their financial well-being.

Derrick is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He maintains an Ohio health and life insurance license as well as FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 securities registrations.

Derrick grew up in Centerville, Ohio. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, reading, and following his favorite sports teams. He and his family spend many happy hours with their French Mastiff, Hugo. He also appreciates any opportunity to “get back to nature” through camping and fishing.
